韩美林先生的艺术主要受到两方面因素的影响：两汉以前中国古文化以及中国民间民族艺术。这一切体现在他的设计中，便呈现出具有鲜明民族特色的“中国艺术设计”。
韩美林先生曾多次参与重要文化标志的设计，如中国国际航空公司航标、北京申奥标志、2008北京奥运会吉祥物“福娃”等，无不令世界瞩目并为之惊叹。他的平面设计，简洁明快，干练易懂，构思巧妙，不落俗套，富有深厚的文化内涵，体现出强烈的中国文化艺术传统。
韩美林先生在设计领域的艺术成就斐然：1980年，由他创作的动画片《狐狸打猎人》就获得南斯拉夫第四届萨格拉布国际动漫电影节最佳美术奖；1983年，韩美林先生的6副作品入选联合国发行的圣诞卡；1983年“猪”生肖邮票一枚，1985年“熊猫”邮票共四枚，1991年至今，每年设计生肖贺年卡。
Mr. Han Meilin’s art is mainly inspired by two factors: Chinese ancient culture before Han Dynasty and Chinese folk art, which presents “Chinese art and design” with distinctive ethnic features.
Mr. Han Meilin has participated in designing many important logos, such as logo for Air China, Beijing Olympic Bid, mascots for 2008 Beijing Olympic Game “Fuwa”, etc, all of which attract worldwide attention. Easy to understand and full of deep cultural meaning, Mr. Han Meilin’s designs are simple and clean, ingenious and unconventional, reflecting a strong tradition of Chinese culture and art.
Mr. Han Meilin has achieved great success in design: in 1980 his carton The Fox and the Hunter won the Best Fine Arts Prize of the 4th Zagrab International Cartoon &Animation Festival in Yugoslavia; in 1983 six of his works were elected as UN’s Christmas card pictures. He has also designed one stamp for the year of “Pig” (1983) and four “Panda” stamps, and he has been designing New Year card with animal sign every year since 1991.
